[Elmer was awake, reading a book on his tablet, when Monica comes to the window. He's slightly startled at first, but when he sees the figure outside, he knows exactly who it is. Grinning, he gets up to open the window for her.]
How nostalgic of you! But you can use the door, you know.
[She slips in easily and looks at Elmer, twisting her lips into a smile. It's clearly not a happy one, but it's also not as fake as the cheerful ones she used to show.]
I didn't know if you would answer if I knocked there.
He's not? [He flops back down on his bed, and reflects on this for a moment.] He's probably torn, yeah? He probably has a lot to think about. He probably just needs some time! So don't be scared.
A place like this could use someone like Huey. If there's anyone clever enough to sort out problems here, it's him. Now, whether or not he actually will is an entirely different story. [He laughs at the thought. Huey has his own agendas, after all. But getting anything in Exsilium pretty much meant having to work with the Initiative.]
Monica... They've inconvenienced everyone they've brought here! Every last Transport was brought here exactly the same way. But Huey is very resourceful. You shouldn't worry too much.
You know him well! But, I've said too much! You can't stand here all night and grill me for answers. [He grabs his pillow, shoves it over his face and falls back onto his bed.]
Mhm. I'd like to. But you know, I was thinking, after I saw him... he's still more important to me than anything else.
If anybody is going to get in his way... if I can't be by his side, I still want to help him. So if I do anything, don't tell him, if you notice. He won't be happy, I think, if he knew that I was interfering.
That doesn't surprise me one bit. Alright! I'll be quiet. I think it's just a matter of time before he comes around anyway. [SO OPTIMISTIC. And so help Elmer, if Huey doesn't, he'll bug him till he does.]
